The Arrest of Shahaji Maharaj: Shivaji Series, Episode 2

The early expansion of the Maratha territory was halted by the news of Shahaji Maharaj's arrest. The capture of Adilshahi forts by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is often seen as a direct consequence of his father's arrest during the Karnataka campaign against the declining Vijayanagara Empire.

This episode argues it was one factor among several in the complex politics of the medieval Deccan.
